		<abstract>The increasing demand for natural resources has been very intense in recent years, negatively impacting the environment, as the substitution of forest remnants by agricultural crops, and disorder urban sprawl. All these human activities compromisse the watersheds, potentializing the problems related to water resources and consequently to the public supply of water. In this context, the objective of this work was to detect the main changes in land use (gains, losses and persistence) with the Land Change Modeler (LCM) tool in three periods 1987, 2000 and 2015 In the Alto Batalha-SP basin. After elaborated the land use maps, were inserted in the Land Change Modeler - LCM module this generated results in the form of tables and maps. Thus it is possible to analyze the dynamics of the different classes of land use between the two periods studied. We can conclude that the dynamics of gain, loss and persistence of land use, between the years studied, identified the main changes, in terms of quantity and spatial distribution in the landscape. The temporal analysis in both periods it possible a better understanding of environmental pressures in the natural areas that have led to the degradation of water resources in the watersheds.</abstract>
